The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 countdown has started with the recently concluded IPL 2022 mega auction. All the 10 participating teams were involved in a battle to pick their favorite players. Ishan Kishan emerged as the most expensive player in the IPL 2022 mega auction. Mumbai Indians went all guns blazing for the dynamite wicket-keeper batsman shedding 15.25 crores.

Similarly, a few players such as Deepak Chahar (CSK), Shreyas Iyer (KKR), Liam Livingstone(PBKS), Avesh Khan (Lucknow), Shardul Thakur (DC), Harshal Patel (Royal Challengers Bangalore), Wanindu Hasaranga (RCB) went for more than 10 crores.
IPL 2022 Venues
IPL 2022 will be on the same lines as IPL 2011, with each team playing against another team twice. As per reports, the league matches will be played in Maharashtra, while the knockout stage expected to take place in Ahmedabad. Jio cricket stadium, situated in Maharashtra, has also been added as a potential venue for the league stages (subject to getting clearance from the broadcasters).
