IPL 2022: Flop XI Of Players Who Failed To Perform In The The League Stage. The league stage of the Indian Premier League 15th edition is over. Gujarat Titans, Lucknow Super Giants, Rajasthan Royals, and Royal Challengers Bangalore are the top 4 teams that have reached the playoff stage and will lock horns in the race to lift the trophy. IPL 2022 saw a few names, such as Tilak Varma, Umran Malik, Arshdeep Singh, Mukesh Choudhary, Dewald Brewis, and Tim David, to name, who rose to the occasion and impressed everyone with their performance. On the contrary, there are star-studded players who, despite proven match-winners, could not shine on the big stage. Let us look at the flop XI of IPL 2022:
IPL 2022: Flop XI Of Players Who Failed To Perform In The League Stage
Rohit Sharma and Aaron Finch (Openers)
It was a disappointing run for Rohit Sharma, both as a batsman and captain. While, in his captaincy, Mumbai Indians could win only 4 games this season, he was able to score just 268 runs in 14 innings, at an average of 19.64. Rohit Sharma’s lack of form brought curtains to the Mumbai Indians team, as the middle order got exposed early.
Aaron Finch joins Rohit Sharma as the second opener. He was inducted into the KKR team as a replacement for injured Alex Hales and could manage to score just 86 runs in 5 innings. Out of this, 58 runs came in one match against Rajasthan Royals.
Mayank Agarwal, Moeen Ali, MS Dhoni (MIDDLE-ORDER)
Mayank Agarwal of Punjab Kings, Moeen Ali, and MS Dhoni of Chennai Super Kings form the middle order of this IPL 2022 flop X1 team. Mayank Agarwal scored only 196 runs in 13 innings, while Moeen Ali could manage to score just 244 runs in 10 matches. Out of this, 93 runs came in the last match.
MS Dhoni started the IPL 2022 with a half-century and raised hopes of a great IPL 2022, but his first match was the only one where he looked dominating. Dhoni scored only 232 runs this season.
Ravindra Jadeja and Kieron Pollard (ALL-ROUNDERS)
Ravindra Jadeja and Kieron Pollard are the all-rounders of the IPL 2022 flop X1 team. It was a very disappointing run for Ravindra Jadeja. He started as the captain of CSK and resigned mid-way, as he could not lead the team efficiently. Jadeja, regarded as one of the best all-rounders in T20 cricket, scored just 116 runs in 10 matches and picked 5 wickets.

Kieron Pollard, the player who is the heartbeat of the MI middle-order, also failed to perform in the IPL 2022. Pollard scored only 144 runs in 11 innings and picked 4 wickets. It won’t be a surprise if Mumbai Indians release Kieron Pollard ahead of IPL 2023 auction.
