The way Rohit Sharma has evolved over the years as a player and as a captain speaks a lot of volume about his dominance in the shortest format of the game.

MI retained Sharma for 16 cr.

Chennai Super Kings- Ravindra Jadeja

Chennai Super Kings will most likely retain Dhoni as the captain for one more year. Dhoni is the second most successful captain of IPL leading CSK to four IPL trophies. He is the key member of the side, and his experience is worth gold to the team. There are many talks about Dhoni retiring from IPL, but his fitness can still allow him to play one more year.

However, Sreyesh Iyer is now fit and expected to return, but the team management will most likely stick with Pant as the captain since they can see a bright future due to Rishabh Pant’s age and his x-factor. He has the potential to be the next superstar for India and in the IPL arena.

DC retained Pant for 16 cr.

Royal Challengers Bangalore- Faf du Plessis

Virat Kohli is the leading run-scorer in the IPL, with 6244 runs in 206 matches. But, it’s also a fact that Kohli-led RCB has failed to lift the IPL trophy even once. Kohli cannot be blamed for this as he cannot play in place of all 11 members. Everyone needs to contribute as a team. He is the crucial player in the side and is too good a captain to be replaced at this point.

Punjab Kings – Mayank Agarwal

Though he has played well, as a captain, he failed. His team has not lived up to the expectations and has lost vital matches in the group stage and failed to qualify for playoffs.
