OPENERS- ROHIT SHARMA AND KL RAHUL

Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul will be the first-choice openers for India in the match against Pakistan. Rohit Sharma is an automatic selection in the team. He has now become a veteran and is a player who, when on the song, can play strokes with ease. Rohit Sharma nowadays has started playing sensibly in the initial overs and accelerates later on.

KL Rahul, over the last 2-3 years, has been the most consistent batsman for team India in the t20 format. He has played consistent cricket. KL Rahul has all the shots in his book. He needs to increase his strike rate a little, especially at the start of the innings. Otherwise, he is a delightful batsman when on full form.

MIDDLE ORDER- VIRAT KOHLI, SURYAKUMAR YADAV, RISHABH PANT

Virat Kohli will be a sure-shot batter at the number 3. He was going through a poor form before the Asia Cup 2022, having remained century-less in close to 1000 days. Suryakumar Yadav, in the last year, has been the best t20 batsman for India. The 360-degree player has played fearless cricket and has been instrumental in a few top wins for India. SKY, with his unique improvisation and skills, can go after the bowling from ball one.

Rishabh Pant can be preferred over Dinesh Karthik in playing X1 for the match against Pakistan. The reason is, that he is a left-handed batter and can provide a variety to the middle-order. The injury to Jadeja has more or less opened the door for a place in the playing X1 for Pant.

ALL-ROUNDER- HARDIK PANDYA & AXAR PATEL

Hardik Pandya, currently India’s number 1 all-rounder, perfectly fits the team. He has made a phenomenal comeback after the injury and has become the perfect utility player. Pandya can hit boundaries and sixes with ease. The fact that he can bowl full 4 overs consistently is also a great sign for India.

Axar Patel is a land-arm spinner, which can help the team management get a like-for-like replacement for Jadeja in the playing X1.

BOWLING ORDER- YUZVENDRA CHAHAL, BHUVNESHWAR KUMAR, JASPRIT BUMRAH, HARSHAL PATEL

After the return of Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel, the bowling lineup of India seems to have the firepower. India missed the services of these 2 bowlers, and that caused them dearly. Chahal, with his flight and variety, will be preferred over Ashwin. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, with this swing bowling, can be very helpful for India on the Australian pitches.

It remains to be seen how Bumrah and Harshal Patel performs after the comeback from the injury. But, their presence is sure to boost the pace of attack.
