The Asia Cup is a men’s ODI & T20 International cricket tournament. It was established in 1983 when the ACC (Asian Cricket Council) was founded as a measure to promote goodwill between Asian countries. It was originally scheduled to be held every 2 years. It alternates every 2-years between One Day Internationals and Twenty 20 formats.

The Asia Cup was first held in Sharjah in 1984. Since then, it has been organized 14 times. It was proposed for the fifteenth time in Sri Lanka in September 2020 but was suspended twice due to Corona.

Asia Cup 2022 is scheduled to be held in Pakistan from 27 Aug- 11 Sep.

Bangladesh hosted the Asia cup 5 times so far, followed by the UAE 3 times. India has been its winner the most 7 times.

Most Runs in a Tournament – Sanath Jayasuriya – 378 ( 2008)
