BCCI Announces 15 Member Squad For Asia Cup 2022. Team India’s squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2022, to take place in the UAE from August 27th– September 11th, 2022, has been announced in a 2-hour long meeting. Rohit Sharma, along with the selectors and coach Rahul Dravid was present from the USA in a virtual meeting held today.

The selection committee was expected to announce the team after the 4th T20, but they decided to wait for the West Indies series to wrap up. This will be the 15th edition of the Asia Cup, which was shifted to the UAE due to ongoing political unrest in the Island nation of Sri Lanka.

Six teams will lock horns against each other in Asia’s oldest cricket tournament. Much-awaited India vs Pakistan T20 match will be held on August 28th in Dubai.

It will be a golden opportunity for the Indian cricket team to give a befitting reply to their arch-rivals Pakistan, who defeated them in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 group stage round by 10 wickets.

There were not a lot of surprises in the squad announced for the Asia Cup 2022. The selectors had already hinted that they would pick the best team and probably the one that will fly to Australia for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2022. It seems the selection committee has stuck to its plans.

Rohit Sharma will lead the men in blue for the second time in the Asia Cup 2022. KL Rahul, who was out from cricket since the IPL 2022 due to an injury, has got a direct entry into the team. Virat Kohli also comes back after a month-long rest.

Dinesh Karthik, as expected, gets a place on the side. Hardik Pandya & Ravindra Jadeja will be the premier all-rounder on the team. He is also expected to bowl 4 overs. Arshdeep Singh, the man of the series boy against the recently concluded India vs West Indies T20 series also got a call for the prestigious tournament.
