MS Dhoni (CSK)

Mahendra Singh Dhoni will most likely be seen playing in the Indian Premier League for the last time. Although the franchise has retained him this season, it is highly unlikely that Dhoni will continue beyond IPL 2022. His reflexes have become very slow. However, Dhoni is still one of the best captains in IPL history, having won 4 IPL titles. Dhoni is like a fatherly figure in the CSK team, and his role this IPL season will be to groom the next captain for the CSK.

Dhoni stats in IPL: IN 220 matches, MS Dhoni has scored 4746 runs at an average of 36 and strike-rate of 136, including 23 half-centuries. Behind the gloves, Dhoni has effected 123 catches and 23 stumpings. While as a captain, Dhoni has made CSK win 121 matches and lose 82.

On 24th March Dhoni quits CSK captaincy.

Dinesh Karthik

Another wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik may also be seen for the final time in the IPL 2022. He is regarded among the most promising players, having played the IPL. Dinesh Karthik has been instrumental behind the stumps as well as coming down the order and chipping with some valuable contributions. He represented Delhi, Punjab, Mumbai, RCB, Gujrat, and Kolkata. He was also the captain of KKR in the 2018 and 2019 seasons.

Ambati Rayudu

Ambati Rayudu is also one of the veteran players who may hang his boots after the end of IPL 2022. Rayudu is currently part of the Chennai Super Kings. Before, he was an integral member of the Mumbai Indians squad. Ambati Rayudu has played some memorable knocks coming in the middle order. His dependency has been an asset over the years. But, Rayudu is already 36+, and his dominance has decreased considerably over the last couple of years.
