IPL 2023 Final: JioCinema Breaks World Record With More Than 3 Crores Viewers During The Mega Event. In a remarkable feat, Jiocinema has set a new world record for viewership. During the highly anticipated final match between the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Gujarat Titans (GT) on Sunday, a staggering 3.20 crores viewers tuned in to watch the game unfold.

IPL Final Saw Record-Breaking Viewership

This staggering figure surpasses the previous record set by Hotstar back in July 2019 in a match between India and New Zealand, which stood at 2.53 crores viewers. For many years, this record remained undefeated until JioCinema entered the picture with its IPL 2023 broadcast. Throughout the season, Jiocinema continuously shattered the world record for viewership. JioCinema bought the digital streaming rights for five years from 2023 to 2027. They were streaming this edition of IPL for free to viewers.

The summit clash of IPL 2023 between CSK and GT garnered the highest concurrent views ever recorded for a live-streamed event. At a critical moment when Sai Sudharsan was batting on 96, the viewership peaked at an unbelievable 3.20 million concurrent viewers, getting the attention of fans worldwide.

This season of IPL saw strong competition between all teams till the fag end of the tournament. Titans, CSK, Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians leapfrogged the other six teams to qualify for the playoffs. Among them defending champions and MS Dhoni-led CSK managed to reach the finals.

The grand finale of the tournament was scheduled to take place on May 28, however continuous rain at the Ahmedabad forced IPL authorities to move the game to the next day. Fans who bought the tickets for the final, waited patiently for the next day to see the game.

The Titans put a mammoth total of 214 runs in 20 overs. Before CSK openers start their innings, the rain halted the game. Rain continued to play spoilsport for few times, before allowing the game to resume with reduced overs in the innings. CKS batsmen had to chase 171 in 15 overs as per the DLS method.

Devon Conway, Shivam Dube, and Ravindra Jadeja displayed extraordinary batting performances to get their side over the line and click the trophy. Thus, CSK won their fifty IPL trophy, all under the leadership of MS Dhoni, and matched the Mumbai Indian’s tally of trophies. IPL 2023 season concluded on an incredible high due to a record number of views and craze among fans while attending matches in the stadiums.
