The final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT) has been postponed owing to rain at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi stadium. The coin toss has been postponed indefinitely, and there is no word on a start time as of this writing.

The IPL2023 final between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, May 28 has been delayed by rain, much like Qualifier 1 was. As the planners were getting ready for the closing ceremony, a little drizzle began to fall.

Rain began to increase 15 minutes before the planned toss time (7 p.m. IST), and high-speed winds and thunder also began to appear. The spectators at the Narendra Modi Stadium, who were dancing to the music of DJ Nucleya who was there for the closing ceremony, were not deterred, though.

The end of a complete match is 9:35 PM IST based on the playing circumstances specified in the previous IPL season. The clock can run for a five-over match until 11:56 PM IST.

Reserve Day Rule For IPL 2023 Final

The regulation is applicable to the Reserve Day as well, taking into account the Super Over. The outfield and pitch must be ready for a Super Over by 1.20 AM IST at the latest.

The squad that placed better on the points chart after 70 league games will take home the trophy if the Reserve Day is also postponed due to inclement weather. Gujarat Titans, who finished first in the league phase, will win this match against CSK, who finished second.

The Gujarat Titans, the league’s defending champions, finished as the only team with 20 points and 10 victories out of a possible 14 victories. With 17 points, Chennai Super Kings placed second.

Rain only ruined one game this season, the May 3 match between Lucknow Super Giants and CSK in Lucknow, which resulted in a point-sharing agreement between the two clubs.

IPL Final 2023 Can Be The Last Game For MS Dhoni And Ambati Rayudu

Before the big final began, thousands of fans had already lined up, with Chennai Super Kings supporters taking up most of the stands as they came to see MS Dhoni.

Even though there is no official word, MS Dhoni, a legend in Indian cricket, might play his farewell game in the 2023 IPL final. Since 2021, there have been numerous rumours about him retiring, but he has debunked them by playing his best in these final years of his career.

In addition to MS Dhoni, Ambati Rayudu may play his final IPL match tonight and retire from all forms of cricket if the match goes on as scheduled. Although there are no official statement for these speculations.
