The 15th edition of the Indian Premier League is around the corner. The 2022 season of IPL will be a ten-team affair with the addition of two new franchises-Lucknow and Ahmedabad. Earlier this month, the BCCI confirmed that TATA will be the title sponsor for the next two years replacing Chinese mobile manufacturing company VIVO.

IPL 2022 Format
The 2022 edition of IPL will be similar to the 2011 edition of the tournament wherein ten teams were divided into two groups (five each). Within each group, every team will face each other twice. Group A and Group B teams will face each other once. Each team will play 14 matches on the league stage. There will be two qualifiers, one eliminator, and a final match.

IPL 2022, RCB Players List & Retention
RCB retained – Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell & Md Siraj before the mega auction. (12 & 13 Feb, Bengaluru) . The final player’s list will come after the auction.

RCB Schedule IPL 2022
VIVO IPL 2021 part 2 has been played in UAE due to the covid-19 pandemic. But BCCI has made it clear that this year IPL will be played in India. The BCCI has not released the official schedule of IPL 2022 yet. But according to sources, the tournament is set to begin on March 27 and end up in May last week. The BCCI is planning to conduct the matches in Mumbai and Pune. This time also cricket fans will not be allowed in stadiums.
