Ambati Rayudu– Chennai Super Kings middle-order batsmen Ambati Rayudu has been an integral member of the squad for a few years. His batting in the middle order has been instrumental in guiding the team to good scores. However, 35 years old Rayudu, who scored 256 runs in 14 matches in the IPL 2021 may be released by the team management.

Chennai is called Daddy Army due to the glut of aged players. In the next year’s auction, Chennai will look for a young spirit.

Delhi Capitals

Steve Smith– Delhi Capitals purchased Steve Smith for IPL 2021. He could get to play only in a few games this season. The team management will have to part ways with him for the IPL 2022 mega auction. The likes of Rishabh Pant, Shikhar Dhawan, Kagiso Rabada, Prithvi Shaw, and Avesh Khan are expected to be retained via normal process along with the Right to Match (RTM) card.

Marcus Stoinis– The Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis is most likely to be released by Delhi Capitals. Stoinis has performed average for the side.

Punjab Kings

Nicholas Pooran – Puran was given a full chance by Punjab, but this player was able to score only 85 runs in 12 matches. There is no doubt that Punjab Kings will release him.

Sunrisers Hyderabad

David Warner– The Australian opener David Warner has been the main pillar of batting for SRH. He has also been one of the highest run-scorers in the history of IPL. But it seems Sunrisers Hyderabad would part ways with Warner. He was removed from the captaincy mid-way during the IPL 2021. With reports coming in about a possible internal dispute between Warner and SRH team management, it seems we might never see David Warner playing for SRH.

Wriddhiman Saha, who is 36 years old, scored just 131 runs in 9 matches for his team this time.  But things might be different for Jonny Bairstow ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction.

Kolkata Knight Riders

Dinesh Karthik– He was the captain of KKR till last season. Dinesh Kartik stepped down from the captaincy in 2020 midway of the IPL. The reason was that he wanted to focus more on his batting. Due to IPL 2022 mega auction 5 player retention rule, it would be difficult for Dinesh Kartik to retain his place in the side.

Eoin Morgan – It seems a bit strange to hear how a team can release their captain, but Morgan could neither not show any brilliance in with the bat. Eoin, who scored 134 runs in 15 matches this season could be hardly kept by Kolkata in his team.

David Miller- The South African batter has been an established player in the Rajasthan Royals team. The team management has given him a lot of opportunities. But he has failed to impress. His performance has been average.

With the likes of Stokes and Jofra Archer in the team, he might be released by the RR.

Manan Vohra –  RR will release vohara before the mega auction.
