5 Possible Captains Of Two New Teams For The IPL 2022

DAVID WARNER

David Warner is one of the most important players for SRH. But due to the sudden removal of captaincy and from playing XI, it is almost certain that Warner will have to go in the auction pool to get a new team. Warner is regarded as a good captain in the IPL. He has captained Delhi Daredevils and Sunrisers Hyderabad in a total of 69 matches together.

Under his captaincy, the team has won 35 matches and lost 32. He led SRH to their first IPL victory in 2016. The experience of Warner can be very handy for the new team. He is part of the Australian squad for the T20 World cup 2021.

QUINTON DE KOCK

The IPL mega auction 2022 will result in Quinton being released from Mumbai Indians due to a maximum 4 player retention rule. This may bring new hopes for the two new franchises for a solid captain.

De Kock has a decent experience of being the captain of South Africa in all 3 formats. He has also captained in few club cricket leagues in South Africa.

The wicket-keeper batsman can provide a good option for the new IPL franchises. His betting at the top of the order is also good along with his work behind the stumps. Quinton may be one of the 5 possible captains of two new teams for IPL 2022.

KL Rahul

Kl Rahul may also get released by Punjab Kings, and according to rumour, Rahul is not willing to continue for Punjab, so he will be available for mega auction. He is an excellent performer for Punjab for the last 3 years. KL brings a lot of stability in the opening. If PBKS release him, it will bring in a good opportunity for the two new teams.

KL Rahul has led Punjab in the last two seasons. With a decent experience as captain for PBKS in the domestic season, it will entice the new IPL franchise to look at him as a possible captain. He was captained in 27 matches with 11 won, 14 loss and 2 tied.

Shreyas Iyer

Shreyas Iyer has good experience playing in IPL. With chances very grim of him being retained by the Delhi Capitals for the IPL 2022 mega auction, it may open doors for the two new franchises to appoint him the captain.

Iyer has the experience of leading DC in 3 seasons. He led the IPL franchise from 2018 to 2020. In 41 matches, in his captaincy, Delhi won 21 matches and lost 18.  Iyer’s record as a captain is not good, but his experience may turn his fortunes as the captain for the new team in IPL 2022.

DINESH KARTHIK

Dinesh Karthik has captained Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2018-2019 season. He has experience in leading the star-studded side.  Karthik has also led his domestic Ranji team Tamil Nadu.

With such an experience, Dinesh Karthik can easily fill in the shoes of a captain of a new IPL franchise. He is a decent batsman who bats in the middle order besides being a good wicketkeeper. He will be on the list of 5 possible captains of two new teams for IPL 2022.
