IND vs AUS ODI Series: Australia Won The Series, Beat India By 21 Runs. India were up against Australia at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Wednesday were Australia beat Team India by 21 runs. Both teams won one game each in this ODI series, so it was a series decider. India decided to play the same Playing XI as the previous game; whereas Australia included spinner Ashton Agar and batsman David Warner in the eleven.

With this victory Steve Smith-led Australia regain Numero uno position in ICC ODI rankings.

Hardik Pandya Floored Top Order Of Australia.

Steven Smith won the toss and choose to bat first. Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh gave a solid start to men-in-yellow. Both openers added 68 runs in 10.4 overs. Pacer bowling all-rounder Hardik Pandya gave the first breakthrough to India by dismissing Head. The left-handed opener scored 33 runs off 31 balls.

Pandya didn’t take much time to take the second wicket by sending opponent skipper Smith back to the dugout on duck. Pandya was running through the Australian batting line-up. He bagged his third wicket by dislodging the stumps of opener Marsh. The right-handed batter 47 runs off the same number of deliveries.

Kuldeep Yadav Bagged Three Wickets

Australia’s middle order couldn’t stitch any big partnership, as a leg-spinner, Kuldeep Yadav picked three wickets in middle overs. Indian bowlers wrapped up Australia on 269 in 50 overs. Pandya and Yadav picked three wickets each; whereas Mohammed Siraj and Axar Patel bagged two wickets each.

Virat Kohli Smashed A Half-Century

While chasing the target, Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill gave a good start. However, both batsmen got out one after another. Gill made 37 off 49 balls; whereas Sharma scored 30 runs off 17 balls. One-down batsman Virat Kohli added 69 runs with wicket-keeper batsman KL Rahul. However, after the wicket of Rahul, the Indian batting line-up collapsed.

Kohli smashed fifty on 61 balls. Spinner Ashton Agar bagged his wicket when the batsman was on 54 off 72 balls. Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja tried to reach India closer to the target but failed to do so. Pandya scored 40 runs off the same number of deliveries. Leg-spinner Adam Zampa bagged four wickets while conceding 45 runs on his quota of 10 overs.
