IPL 2023: Top 5 Highest Run Chase In Indian Premier League (IPL). We are now after the second week of the IPL 2023. We have witnessed some incredible matches with close calls. One of them occurred on April 10, Monday, when Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (LSG). They chased down a massive target of 213 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

It is well known that chasing a target of 200+ in a T20 match is difficult, but the IPL never fails to disappoint. There have been several times in the history of the Indian Premier League when a side amassed 200+ runs while batting first and set a challenging target for the opponent. Yet, just a few teams have chased it.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) -224 (IPL 2020)

Rajasthan Royals is in first place for chasing one of the biggest totals in IPL history. Punjab Kings (PBKS) batted first in the ninth match of the IPL 2020 against Rajasthan Royals, and they batted effectively, setting a target of 224 runs for Rajasthan Royals.

Rajashtan Royals (RR) lost their opener Jos Buttler early on, but a team effort from Sanju Samson, Smith, and Rahul Tewatia saved the day. Samson was their leading run-scorer, hitting 85 runs off 42 deliveries to help RR achieve the most successful run chase.

Mumbai Indians (MI)- 219 (IPL 2018)

On the list of the highest chases in the IPL, Mumbai Indians are ranked second. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) had the opportunity to bat first when playing against MI in the 27th game of the IPL 2021, and they added 218 runs to the total.

Mumbai was put under pressure after they lost three wickets for 81 runs. However, Kieron Pollard’s unbeaten 87 helped them triumph in the nail-biting finish. During his 34-ball innings, the Caribbean all-rounder hit 6 boundaries and as many as 8 sixes. Which helped MI to a shocking 4-wicket victory over Chennai Super Kings.

Rajasthan Royals (RR)- 217 (IPL 2008)

The Rajasthan Royals were clearly a team to watch in the inaugural season of the IPL. The now-defunct Deccan Chargers set a challenging 215-run target for the Royals to meet in their match.

In response, Rajasthan’s batters, Graeme Smith and Yusuf Pathan, provided 98 runs for the second wicket. Yusuf Pathan was named Man of the Match after scoring 61 runs off only 28 balls. Rajasthan Royals made 217 runs and won by three wickets.

The highest Chase for IPL 2023 is Lucknow Super Giants chasing a dramatic 1-run victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). When RCB took the pitch to bat, Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, and Glenn Maxwell pelted the ball with sixes, setting a target of 212 for LSG.

Lucknow lost 5 wickets in just 105 runs while chasing 213 runs. Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran got out of their shells and charged in when things seemed impossible. When Pooran accomplished something exceptional by surpassing the 60-run threshold in just 19 deliveries, Stoinis hit 65 runs off just 30 balls. After a few late wickets, RCB attempted to recover but was unable to do that.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)- 210 (IPL 2022)

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) were unable to display their classic form in the IPL 2022 under the leadership of Ravindra Jadeja. But after scoring 210 runs against the Lucknow Super Giants. it looked like a done deal until KL Rahul, Quinton de Kock, and Evin Lewis went on the rampage.

Lewis remained at the crease till the end, scoring 55 runs off only 23 balls. During his 9-ball cameo, Ayush Badoni blasted two key sixes, allowing CSK to win by 7 wickets with three balls to spare.
