After a long wait, the BCCI has finally announced the league stage schedule of IPL 2022. Although the playoffs schedule is yet to be revealed. TATA IPL 2022 will start from 26th March and the league stage matches will go on for 70 matches over the span of 58 days. The league stage of IPL 2022 will thus end on 22nd May.
The TATA IPL 2022 league stage matches will only be played in four stadiums – Wankhede, DY Patil Stadium, Brabourne, and MCA (Pune). VIVO IPL 2021 finalist Kolkata Knight Riders will play the first match of the season against arch Rivals Chennai Super Kings on 26th March (Saturday) at Wankhede Stadium.

KKR has named Shreyas Iyer as their new captain and they will mark the beginning of a new era under his leadership. Shreyas Iyer’s captaincy with Delhi Capitals had been commendable and he will be expected to keep up that record at KKR too.
