ROAD SAFETY WORLD SERIES
Sachin Tendulkar, the God of cricket is the captain of the Road Safety World Series currently underway. Sachin is leading the Indian legends team which comprises of Superstars of past years like Sehwag, Yuvraj, Irfan Pathan to name a few.
The Indian legends under the captaincy of Sachin Tendulkar has won 5 matches out of 6 and have qualified for the final. On Sunday, Sri Lanka Legends and India Legends are face to face for the Road Safety World Series title in Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium Raipur . Now The big question is Can Sachin win the first title for India under his captaincy ROAD SAFETY WORLD SERIES.
Can Sachin Tendulkar do something which he has not done before, that is win a trophy for India as a captain?

Sachin’s record as a captain for India :
It’s said that no one can be perfect in everything. Same is the case with Sachin Tendulkar. We all know that he is the God of cricket for India. People used to worship this living legend when he used to play cricket for Indian team. Such has been the craze of this master blaster.
Sachin as a captain has been truly opposite as Sachin as a player. He has failed to perform as a captain in tests and ODI for team India. His records as a captain tells the story. He has failed miserably as a captain for India.
Sachin Tendulkar was made captain of Indian team in the year 1996, In the 73 ODIs he led India, the team won only 23 matches, while lost 43 – his win percentage was very low 35.07.
In Test matches, Sachin Tendulkar’s record as captain has been even worse, with India winning just 4 tests and losing 9 of the 25 matches he captained the side. The winning percentage has been a poultry 16%.
Indian politician and Member of Parliament from Thiruvananthapuram Shashi Tharoor, said that he was never convinced of Sachin Tendulkar’s skills as a captain. Tharoor felt that Tendulkar was the best choice to captain India in the mid-1990s but his perception changed drastically when he was given the responsibility in 1996 and he failed to provide results for Indian team.
Sachin’s performance in the Unacademy Road Safety World Series 2021:
The road safety league is currently underway. All matches were played in Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium, Raipur India has won 5 out of 6 matches and are sitting at the top of the points table. Sachin has performed exceptionally well both as a captain as well as a batsman in the series so far.
He has managed to score 36(29), 0(2), 33(26), 9(9), 60(37),65 His knock in the last match against West Indies legends was a visual treat. It seemed as if he has not retired. His shots selection, straight drives, etc, were something which remined us of the old days.
Sachin Tendulkar has also captained this India legends team exceptionally well. His quick bowling changes and field positions according to the batsman were up to the mark. Sachin has never won any tournament for India in any form of cricket. The performance in the road safety world series has raised hopes of this record being broken.
