The Paltans are pursuing 200+ plus scores like it’s a piece of cake these days. One interesting fact is that, before IPL 2023, MI had only pursued a score of 200 or higher once. However, they have chased 200+ points twice this year, and both times in back-to-back matches.

Yes, Mumbai Indians have done it again, chasing down Punjab Kings’ mighty score of 214 in the 46th match of the IPL 2023 that too in the home ground of Punjab Kings that is I S Bindra Stadium Mohali. Last time in the 1000th IPL match, Mumbai chased the 212 offered by Rajasthan Royals. Mumbai Indians’ batsmen are showing off some impressive cricketing abilities.

MI was hanging between eighth and ninth place in the points standings until beating PBKS and now they moved up to sixth place.  That is why Mumbai is regarded as one of the strongest IPL teams since they know how to chase and how to win. So, here are some of the best chases by Mumbai Indians.

219 vs CSK IPL 2021

This is Mumbai Indians greatest run chase in the history of the IPL. When CSK vs MI El-Classico happened in the 27th game of the IPL 2021, they had the opportunity to bat first and added 218 runs to the total.

After losing three wickets for 81 runs, Mumbai was put under pressure. Kieron Pollard’s undefeated 87, on the other hand, helped them win in a nail-biting end. The Caribbean all-rounder smashed six boundaries and as many as eight sixes in his 34-ball innings. This contributed to MI’s surprise four-wicket win against Chennai Super Kings.

215 vs PBKS IPL 2023

Mumbai Indians traveled to Punjab To play against the Punjab Kings in their Home in the 46th match of IPL 2023. Rohit won the toss and call the host to bat first. With the help of Liam Livingstone 80 runs from 42 balls PBKS gave the target of 215 to MI.

As MI Came to bat they lost their early wicket in the form of Captain Rohit Sharma on a duck. However, Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav did a partnership of over 100 runs and got close to the target but couldn’t finish it. Tilak Verma and Tim David gave the finishing touch and chased down the target with one over left.

214 vs RR IPL 2023

On Rohit Sharma’s birthday, Sanju Samson won the toss and chose to bat first against Mumbai Indians in the 1000th IPL match. Yashasvi Jaiswal, the teenager, has hit 124 off 62 balls to help RR reach 212/7.  

Suryakumar Yadav’s aggressive 50 and Tim David’s power-packed cameo of 45, on the other hand, led Mumbai Indians to a stunning six-wicket victory against Rajasthan Royals in the last over. Tim David hit three consecutive sixes to help Mumbai Indians win the game. The hosts create history by completing Wankhede’s greatest successful run chase.

199 vs PBKS IPL 2017

It appears that PKBS and Mumbai Indians batted in some of the most exciting matches in IPL history. PBKS scored 198 runs in the 22nd match of the IPL 2017, with Hashim Amla scoring 104 not out.

At the time, the Mumbai Indians had some players who are now playing and prospering in other franchises. Joss Buttler and Nitesh Rana, the Interim Captain of KKR in IPL 2023, are two among them. Back to the match, with the help of Joss and Nitesh, MI chased down that target in just 15 overs. Joss scored 77 runs in 37 balls, while Nitesh scored 62 runs in 34 balls.

199 vs RCB IPL 2023

In the 54th match of the IPL 2023, Mumbai Indians chased 199 against Royal Challengers Bangalore. RCB batted first and scored 199 runs, with captain Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell scoring a half centuries. MI achieved the target in just 16.3 overs.
