IPL 2O23 auction will take place in Feb-March 2023. This 16th edition, as usual, will be held in India. In the ongoing tournament (IPL 2022), for the first time in IPL history, the tv viewership has fallen drastically by around 33%. The reason for the same is that the two most consistent teams Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings, have performed very poorly. Both the star-studded team has impact players, but they have fallen like nine pins. This year, we might be seeing a few players playing for the final time in their careers. IPL 2023: 6 Big Players Who Will Be Not Be Seen On The Tournament

MS DHONI (Chennai Super Kings)

MS Dhoni, one of the most admired players in IPL history, is most likely to call it a quit after the end of IPL 2022. The veteran cricketer and the biggest heartbeat of CSK fans worldwide have already turned 41. Fans have always loved him and admired his cricketing genius. This will make the fans emotional, as they have held the wicket-keeper batsman in high regard.

Yesterday, in a shocking decision, Ravindra Jadeja, the newly appointed CSK captain, handed over the captaincy to Dhoni after just 8 matches. This also gives a substantial weightage to the fact that Dhoni would say goodbye to the fans being the captain of CSK. We might see MS Dhoni taking the role of mentorship for Chennai Super Kings from IPL 2023 onwards.

KIERON POLLARD (Mumbai Indians)

The next player on this list is Mumbai Indian’s evergreen Kieron Pollard. Since IPL’s inception, he has been associated with the franchise and has been an integral member of the playing XI. Pollard announced his retirement from the International cricket a few days ago. Although he has not decided to quit IPL, seeing his performance graph getting down in the last few years, Pollard will most likely announce his retirement from IPL as well.

FAF DU PLESSIS (Royal Challengers Bangalore)

The South African veteran cricketer and the current RCB captain, Faf Du Plessis, can also most likely announce his retirement from the most popular cricket league that is IPL. Although his performance in the last 2 seasons has been phenomenal, his age factor is still starting to take a toll on his fitness. His running between the wickets has been a cause for concern, and his fielding has also deteriorated.

MOEEN ALI (Chennai Super Kings)

Moeen Ali, regarded among the best all-rounders in the shortest format of cricket, is already 34 years old. His batting does not have that old firepower and cannot get going. Moeen Ali, who once used to be a very dangerous spin bowler, has nowadays become like a regular off-break bowler. The batsmen have taken him to the cleanest. It’s almost certain that this veteran England cricketer will quit the IPL from IPL 2023.

AJINKYA RAHANE (Kolkata Knight Riders)

Ajinkya Rahane was once regarded as one of the best limited-overs batsmen, given the dependency he provided to the batting order. But, it has been a difficult time for Rahane after the Australian series. He has failed to score runs across all formats, resulting in the selection committee dropping him from the national test team. In fact, Rahane is also unable to get a lot of chances in the IPL playing X1 for KKR. The future looks bleak for Rahane, and he might quit the IPL very soon.

JAYDEV UNADKAT (MI)

Jaydev Unadkdat was once a very prolific bowler. With his ability to swing the ball both ways, Jaydev Unadkat rose to the glory when in IPL 2018, he was purchased by Rajasthan Royals for 11.5 crores. But, since then, his performance has only deteriorated.

It clearly shows the intention of the IPL franchise to invest money in young fresh legs. Jaydev Unadkat, like the above-mentioned 5 players, might have also played their last IPL this season.
