Team India performed exceptionally well in the batting department throughout the series. The biggest positives to take from this series for India is the form of their key players. Shikhar Dhawan, Kl Rahul, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant all performed exceptionally well throughout the series.

The return in form of Kl Rahul was a huge sigh of relief for India. Pandya brothers also played a few important knocks to help their side reach competitive totals.

If we talk about the first match, they were cruising along towards victory but suddenly they had a brain fade and the team collapsed. In the second ODI, England learned from their mistakes and chased down the target very easily with 6 overs to spare. In the third and final ODI, the team lost few key players in the starting, but Sam Curran’s heroic efforts almost sealed the match for them.

Almost all the key players of the star-studded batting line-up played good cricket. Jonny Bairstow, Jason Roy, Ben Stokes all performed well.They just need to be calm and play sensible cricket at times during pressure situations.

The bowling performance of team India in this series can be termed as above average. The pace bowlers Bhuvi, Shardul Thakur did a good job. Both of them bowled a few slower deliveries and took wickets when it was required.

Prasidh Krishna had a memorable debut match. He took 2 quick wickets in the middle overs to change the course of the game in the 1st match. T Natarajan bowled some slow off cutters in the final game to restrict the England batsmen.

The spinners went for a lot of runs. Kuldeep Yadav had a horrible 2nd ODI. Team India bowlers were able to pick up wickets in crucial phases which made the difference.

England bowling performance was also just like India. The pitch which was offered at MCA Stadium, Pune was a batting-friendly wicket. The pace attack of England which had names such as Mark Wood, Sam Curran, Tom Curran all went for runs.

The spinners Adil Rashid and Moin Ali also went for a few runs. The English bowlers were somewhat successful in containing the Indian batsmen in the final ODI, else the scorecard would have looked much different. It was the nature of wicket that made the England bowlers toil hard.

Rating 6.5-10.

Overall, it was a series that went down to the wire. The no 1 and no 2 sides showed a lot of character throughout the series. Whether we talk about Krunal Pandya playing an amazing debut knock, Sam Curran almost single-handedly guiding the side to an improbable victory.
