India’s Predicted Playing XI For The T20 Series Against Sri Lanka

Under the captaincy of Dhawan, Team B of Indian cricket created history by defeating Sri Lanka’s A team by 2-1 in the ODI Series. Now India is all set for the three-match T20 series. This T20 series is essential for the Indian team to prepare for the ICC World T20 scheduled later this year.

The squad for the Sri Lanka tour was announced earlier last month. Shikhar Dhawan was appointed as the captain for the Sri Lanka tour with key players unavailable due to the five-match test series in England.

Expected Playing XI For Team India For 3 Matches T20 Series Against Sri Lanka

Shikhar Dhawan (C) and Prithvi Shaw

Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw are expected to open the batting for the initial one or two matches. Both these players have been in sublime form in IPL 2021. Prithvi Shaw returning to form is a good sign for team India.

With Devdutt Padikaal and Ruturaj in the squad, both the players can also expect to feature in the playing XI in the second or third t20.

No 3 – Surya Kumar Yadav

Suryakumar Yadav is all certain to be included in the playing XI at the number third batting order. He can do the role of both an aggressive batsman along an anchor batsman. Suryakumar Yadav has evolved as one of the best batsmen in IPL for his sheer consistency.

In the ODI series that ended yesterday, Suryakumar Yadav scored 124 runs and was adjudged Man of the Tournament.

No 4- Sanju Samson

Sanju Samson also got a chance to debut for Team India for the first time yesterday. In this match, Sanju scored 44 runs and presented his strong claim in the T20 series.

No 5- Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya has evolved as one of the key players for team India. His inclusion in the playing XI for the T20 series is fixed. But it will be interesting to see whether he bowls in the series or not. His four overs with the bowl will play a vital role for team India in the ICC T20 world cup.

No 6- Ishan Kishan (Wicketkeeper)

Ishan Kishan can find himself in the playing XI, at least for the first T20 match. With Sanju Samson also in the squad, Ishan Kishan will have to perform in the given opportunity. Indian team management may also try to accommodate Ishan Kishan for the ICC T20 world cup 2021. So, this series becomes more critical for him.

No 7- Krunal Pandya

Krunal Pandya is all certain to represent India in the T20 series. Krunal brings a lot of value to the team. Krunal Pandya can play the long handle when required. His four overs with the bowl are also crucial to contain the opposition.

No 8- Bhuvneshwar Kumar (Vice-captain)

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the newly appointed vice-captain for the Sri Lanka tour, is a sure-shot selection in the playing XI. Bhuvi is one of the best T20 bowlers currently playing cricket. In IPL, he holds the record of two back-to-back purple caps in the year 2016 and 2017. His presence in the team will bring experience to the bowling attack.

No 9- Deepak Chahar

Deepak Chahar can take wickets with the new bowl. He can extract good pace and bounce even on slow pitches. This will make him very useful in Sri Lankan pitches. His excellent run with CSK will make him one of the pace bowlers to feature in the playing XI.
