IPL 2024 SRH: Sunrisers Hyderabad Squad, Their IPL Stats, Probable Playing XI, Schedule & Venues. With newly-appointed captain Pat Cummins at the helm, the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) franchise aims for a fresh start after finishing at the bottom of the points table in the previous season. They kick off their season against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in an away match on Saturday, March 23rd.
Sunrisers Hyderabad entered the IPL for the first time in 2013. They had a successful run, reaching the playoffs in five consecutive seasons from 2016 to 2020. Among these, they won the title in 2016 and were runners-up in 2018. However, their luck changed afterward, and they faced a downturn, finishing at the bottom of the table in both 2021 and 2023.

Before the 2024 auction, Sunrisers Hyderabad exchanged Shahbaz Ahmed with Mayank Dagar from Royal Challengers Bangalore. During the auction, they made significant investments in international players such as Pat Cummins, Travis Head, and Wanindu Hasaranga. Additionally, they strengthened their pace bowling department by acquiring Jaydev Unadkat.
Aiden Markram guided the Sunrisers Eastern Cape, a team owned by the same franchise, to consecutive titles in the SA20 tournament. In a surprising decision, Hyderabad replaced Markram with Pat Cummins as the team captain, despite Cummins never having led in a professional T20 match before.
