IND vs ENG 3rd Test: India’s Strongest Playing 11 vs England and Updated Squad: The Indian team in Vizag proved their talent within four days, defeating England by 106 runs and leveling the series. Attention now shifts to the India lineup as they gear up for the next three Tests with several key players injured and on the sidelines. Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami will be missing in action, with questions still being asked about the availability of Virat Kohli, whose status is being awaited by the BCCI.

India leveled the series by downing England 1-1, helped by a standout performance from Jasprit Bumrah, who picked up nine wickets in the second Test. Yet, there’s this talk of giving Bumrah a rest in the coming Rajkot Test for workload management, a move that looks more towards preserving him for the IPL and the T20 World Cup later this year, which is a consideration led by Rahul Dravid and Rohit Sharma.

The third Test between India and England is set to take place in Rajkot, commencing on February 15th. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will probably announce the side for the remaining three Tests against England after the drubbing at Headingley. This article will delve into India’s strongest playing XI for the third Test against England.

IND vs ENG: India’s Strongest Playing 11 For 3rd Test vs England

1. Rohit Sharma (c)

Rohit Sharma showcased a mixed performance with the bat while leading the Indian cricket team again. He scored 24 and 39 in the Test match against England in Hyderabad on January 25, 2024. A decent captaincy was followed by a rather disappointing batting display.

However, in his most recent encounter against England in Visakhapatnam on February 2, 2024, Rohit produced 14 and 13. His bat was more active, but the execution was perhaps not at the level where fans would have liked it to be.

2.Yashasvi Jaiswal

Yashasvi Jaiswal has been in top form for his recent matches against England; he made 209 runs in the first innings and followed it with 17 runs in the 2nd innings in the Test Match held in Visakhapatnam on February February 2024. In the earlier Test Match in Hyderabad on January 25, 2024, he made 80 runs in the 1st inning, followed by 15 runs in the 2 Innings.

3.Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill returned with his scintillating bat in the second test match against England held on February 2, 2024, in Visakhapatnam and scored a stupendous 104. But his performance in the previous Test, played in Hyderabad, where he scored 23 and 0 in the first and second innings, respectively, was not of that class.

But for this inconsistency, one could not ignore Gill’s abilities to come back and play such a scintillating century in the next Test and underline what a player he can become.

4.Rajat Patidar

Rajat Patidar, newly added to the Indian Test squad in place of Virat Kohli, has been making waves with his batting skills in recent matches. In the second Test against England held in Visakhapatnam on February 2nd, 2024, he showed promise with scores of 32 and 9, although he fell short in the second innings. Despite this, the team management has decided to give him another chance to prove himself.

5.KL Rahul

In the thrilling Test match between India and England at Hyderabad on January 25, 2024, KL Rahul displayed outstanding flair with the bat as he scored 86 and 22. His significant score of 86 was in the first innings while he played a knockout of 22 runs later on.

He, however, would miss the following two tests as he was sidelined due to discomfort in his right quadriceps, which came to light after the first test. The BCCI Medical Team is looking after Rahul’s rehabilitation, and he hopes he returns to the squad for the third test.

6.KS Bharat

KS Bharat’s most recent scores have not been impressive, with 17 and 6 and 41 and 28 in the Tests played versus England on February 2nd in Visakhapatnam and January 25th in Hyderabad, respectively. Even with these hiccups, the management is again inclined to give him a chance to prove his mettle in the second test to be played at Rajkot.

In the recent India vs England 1st test match held in Hyderabad on from January 25, 2024, KL Rahul displayed his class in batting with scores of 86 and 22. He played very well with his 84 runs in the first innings, which was very good.

7.Axar Patel

Axar Patel has been a key player for the Indian cricket team in their matches against England. In the Visakhapatnam Test on February 2nd, 2024, Axar impressed with scores of 27 and 45 with the bat and showcased his bowling prowess with figures of 1/24 and 1/75. Similarly, in the previous Test in Hyderabad on January 25th, 2024, Axar proved his mettle with scores of 44 and 17, along with bowling figures of 2/33 and 1/74.

8.Kuldeep Yadav

Kuldeep Yadav left a mark in the second Test in Visakhapatnam. Despite sitting out the first match, he delivered an impressive bowling performance in the first innings, claiming figures of 3/71 and 1/60. His contribution highlighted his value to the team and his ability to make an impact when given the chance. As the series progresses, Yadav’s role is expected to be crucial in India’s pursuit of success against England.

9.Ravichandran Ashwin

Ravichandran Ashwin has been one of the shining stars of the ongoing India-England Tests. He not only scored 20 and 29 runs with the bat but also picked up 3 wickets while bowling in the first Test that took place in Visakhapatnam.

He again proved to be brilliant in the second Test at Hyderabad, scoring 1 and 28 runs with the bat and taking another 3 wickets. It was his all-around performance that seemed to be catalyzing the success of the Indian team in decimating the English batsmen.

10.Mohammed Siraj

In the 1st Test match that India played against England in Hyderabad, Mohammed Siraj had nothing to write home about with the bat, scoring 0* and 12, and couldn’t make it matter with the ball either, giving away 0/28 and 0/22. He was benched for the second test match.

With Jasprit Bumrah set to be ruled out of the upcoming matches, it is likely to be a moment when Siraj may be handed the mantle in the third Test, something he will cherish as atonement and proof of self-worth in the absence of a leading pack of bowlers.

11.Avesh Khan

In Rajkot, Avesh Khan might manage to find a place in the playing XI. With Bumrah out, Avesh may get the opportunity to partner with Mohammed Siraj in the bowling attack. Avesh Khan is all set to make a splash on the international stage in style as he gears up to join India for the Test series against England.
