T20 World Cup 2022: 5 Indian Players Who Should Not Be Included In The Squad Because Of Their Poor Performance in The Asia Cup

T20 World Cup 2022: 5 Indian Players Who Should Not Be Included In The Squad Because Of Their Poor Performance in The Asia Cup. Team India’s performance in the Asia Cup 2022 has been downright poor so far. They have played 4 matches till now and have managed to win only two out of them – that too, one of their wins came against a weak Hong Kong team.

They started the tournament on a high with a great win against Pakistan but then again they lost to them in the return leg and last night they suffered an unexpected loss against a comparatively poor Sri Lankan team.

We’ve got to remember that as we speak, Sri Lanka is going through an economical crisis in their nation and the fact that they somehow defeated India ‘comfortably’ under these circumstances as well, is indeed humiliating for Team India

However, it can easily be noticed that there are a few elements (players) in the Indian Playing XI who are the main causes of our constant lack of confidence, especially in the last couple of overs.

In this article, we are going to talk about some such players who can cost India our upcoming tournaments as well and thus need to be removed from our squad immediately.

1. Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Bhuvneshwar Kumar made a comeback to the Indian national T20 squad after a long time in Asia Cup 2022 and had been a decent death-over bowler in the first 1-2 matches. He was economical and had been picking up a number of wickets here and there as well.

However, as we saw in the second match against Pakistan and in last night’s match against Sri Lanka, his inconsistency can cost us a lot sometimes, and thus it is better to keep him out of India’s T20 World Cup Squad as we can not have such an inconsistent in our ICC T20 World Cup 2022 squad.

2. Arshdeep Singh

Arshdeep Singh had been one of the better performers in India’s squad for Asia Cup 2022 but he got targeted by Indian fans after dropping the easy but crucial catch in the final overs of the second match between India and Pakistan.

It was probably due to this reason that his poor performance against Sri Lanka (Economy: 10.43) is being talked about so much. It might also be the case that all the trolls got inside his head and affected his performance last night as they messed up his confidence.

In that case, he should overcome his lack of confidence soon lest he must be removed from the squad as well.

3. KL Rahul KL Rahul is undoubtedly one of the biggest names in the Indian squad right now across all the formats but he is currently going through a very rough patch. He had performed well in IPL 2021 but after that, his performances in the International stages have been consistently poor with some rare good knocks here and there.

Therefore, despite being a star player, he might have to be removed from India’s squad for the T20 World Cup 2022. Shubman Gill might be a good replacement for KL Rahul as he is currently in great form and can also open.

4. Avesh Khan – Avesh Khan was downright pathetic in the first two matches that he played in Asia Cup 2022. He is undoubtedly a great T20 bowler but he is just not the player that India needs right now.

He will definitely be replaced in the T20 World Cup squad by Jasprit Bumrah who is returning from his injury soon anyways.

5. Rishabh PantRishabh Pant had been our only option of a good wicketkeeper-batsman for a long time now but he now finally has some competition from Dinesh Karthik. And Rohit Sharma has made it very clear that Pant might be replaced by Dinesh Karthik in case he fails to perform in important matches, just like he did in the first match between India and Pakistan.

So although Rishabh Pant will be there in India’s squad for T20 World Cup 2022, we feel that Dinesh Karthik will be the one playing the matches.
