IPL 2022 mega auction is expected to be held in January-February 2022. The mega auction, which happens once every 3 years gives every team few opportunities to experiment and enhance their squad. They have the option to use Right to Match (RTM).
In the last mega auction which happened in 2018, CSK retained their main players and won the title that year. However, the upcoming 2022 mega auctions are going to be a headache for CSK.

The Chennai Super Kings management would have to use their RTM cards very wisely. We are guessing about 5 players on whom CSK could use RTM in IPL 2022 mega auction.
5 Players For Whom CSK Could Use RTM
SURESH RAINA
If we look at the CSK squad, it is highly unlikely that Suresh Raina could find himself in the 3 retained players. But we also cannot deny the fact that he is one of the most successful batsmen in IPL history. CSK might release him, but they would surely target Raina through RTM given the amount of experience he has.

He has scored 5491 runs in 195 innings at a healthy average of 33. He has also scored 39 half-centuries. He is also the 3rd highest run-scorer currently in IPL history.
RUTURAJ GAIKWAD
CSK is a team that is considered an old horse. But they have a young player who has performed well as an opener. We are talking about Ruturaj Gaikwad. He was the standout performer for CSK in the last season.
He has scored 400 runs in 13 innings with an average of 36.36. He has also scored 5 half-centuries. Since any IPL franchise has the liberty to retain 2 uncapped Indian players, CSK can use RTM to bring back Ruturaj if they release them for the auctions.

DEEPAK CHAHAR
Deepak Chahar off-late has been the most important bowler for CSK. He generally opens the bowling attack and has taken crucial wickets in his initial spell. CSK would be very eager to retain this bowler through Right to Match (RTM). CSK lacked a quality Indian bowler.
It seems Deepak has fulfilled their requirement. Chahar has picked 53 wickets in 55 matches. His best bowling figure has been 4/13.

MOEEN ALI
The England all-rounder is a very key player for CSK. His off-spin bowling along with quality batting has been very helpful. Ali is a complete package in the T20 format. Moeen Ali could also find it difficult to be retained via the normal process. But CSK will go all guns blazing to retain this English player via Right to Match (RTM).
Ali has picked 15 wickets in 22 innings. He has also scored 515 runs at a strike rate of 158.

SAM CURRAN
Another English player Sam Curran is also expected to be released by CSK for IPL 2022 mega auctions. But they would want him back through Right to Match (RTM). Sam Curran has performed well for CSK in these games of IPL 2021.
He is handy both with the bat along with the bowl. His slower deliveries are very handy during the end overs. Sam Curran has scored 333 runs in 22 innings with a strike rate of 151. He has also taken 32 wickets.
