WTC Points Table 2023-25 (Updated): New Zealand On Top After Beating South Africa, India Lost No.2 Position. New Zealand dethroned Australia from the latest WTC 2023-25 standings. The Kiwi team beat South Africa and reached on top in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 points table with a points percentage of 66.66%. They’re ahead of Australia and India in the rankings.

New Zealand surged ahead of Australia and India to claim the top position in the World Test Championship (WTC) points table. They achieved this after a dominant 281-run win over a weakened South African team in the first Test in Mount Maunganui. Currently, New Zealand holds the No.1 spot in the WTC standings with a points percentage of 66.66%.

The team led by Tim Southee has a strong chance of making it to the WTC final next year. They are heavily favored to win the upcoming Test match and secure a 2-0 series victory against South Africa. In the first Test, South Africa fielded six debutants, as many of their key players were unavailable due to the SA20 commitments.

Kane Williamson’s impressive twin centuries and Rachin Ravindra’s double ton put New Zealand in a strong position going into Day 4. Pacer Kyle Jamieson, supported by spinner Mitchell Santner, played a crucial role in securing a dominant victory for the hosts. However, in the final session, with overcast conditions at the picturesque Bay Oval, Jamieson made significant breakthroughs by dismissing David Bedingham (87) and Keegan Petersen (16).

Moreover, India and England are currently playing a five-match series in India. England won the first Test in Hyderabad to lead 1-0, but India bounced back with a commanding 106-run win in the next Test in Visakhapatnam to level it 1-1.

The next three Tests will be crucial for India. Winning at least two of them would give them a good chance of making it to the WTC final for the third time. India also has a tough Australia tour lined up later in the year. The third Test begins on February 15 in Rajkot.
