Shubman Gill Beats Dawid Malan To Win ICC Player Of The Month Award For September. Shubman Gill of India is the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for September 2023 after dominating a stretch of One-Day Internationals leading up to the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup following run-scoring achievements in his country’s trophy-winning Asia Cup campaign and the ensuing ODI series against Australia.

He is crowned due to votes made by global fans registered at icc-cricket.com and a specialised panel comprised of ICC Hall of Famers, former international players, and media representatives. Gill has had a flurry of form in 2023, propelling him up the MRF Tyres ICC Men’s ODI batting rankings.

Gill wins his second Player of the Month award for 2023, beating out compatriot Mohammed Siraj and England’s Dawid Malan, who excelled in shorter formats of the game ahead of the ongoing ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 in India.

Shubman Gill, the Indian opener, was in excellent form throughout September, scoring 480 ODI runs at an astounding average of 80. His crucial involvement in India’s Asia Cup victory includes two centuries and three fifties.

His outstanding run continued in the one-day international series against Australia. Gill was the highest run scorer, with a total of 302 runs. Gill contributed a superb 74 in the series’ first game and a century, hitting 104 in Indore.

After hitting three figures against Bangladesh (121) during the Asia Cup for two tonnes in September, the right-hander hammered a century against Australia (104) in the second of those ODIs. Gill also hit three half-centuries last month and was removed for less than fifty only twice in eight innings.

Gill is now suffering from dengue fever and has been ruled out of India’s first two World Cup matches. Hopefully, his recovery reports will be positive, and he will be able to participate in the third match against Pakistan. On October 14, India will face Pakistan at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The entire country wants Gill to play because he is the maestro of the Ahmedabad pitch.
