IPL 2024: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Players List 2024: Full Squad, Their IPL Stats, And Probable Playing XI For Tournament. IPL 2024 going to kick start from March 22. The Chennai team, having won five times, had a mostly complete squad for the IPL 2024 Auction. The opening match of IPL 2024 will see Chennai Super Kings facing off against Royal Challengers Bangalore on 22 March. This highly anticipated clash is generating more excitement than even the iconic India vs Pakistan match.
The Chennai team began the auction calmly and initially showed interest in Travis Head, a World Cup winner. However, they changed their mind after seeing Sunrisers Hyderabad’s interest in him. Instead, they decided to go for Rachin Ravindra, who was supported by the Chennai management. They were looking to replace Ambati Rayudu, who retired before the season. Additionally, they wanted young power hitters and some improvements in their bowling.
They managed to sign him for Rs 1.8 Crore. Ravindra, a young New Zealand batter, adds stability to the top order with his excellent technique against both spin and pace bowling. Afterwards, the five-time champions targeted New Zealand all-rounder Daryle Mitchell and spent big on him. They splurged INR 14 Crore on the left-handed batter, making him their costliest acquisition at the IPL Auction 2024.

CSK’s most thrilling buy was Sameer Rizvi, dubbed the ‘Right-handed Suresh Raina’. Rizvi grabbed attention with a remarkable showing in the UPT20 League, scoring 455 runs in 10 matches with a superb strike rate of 188.8 and averaging 50. In the fast-paced bidding phase, CSK signed Bangladesh bowler Mustafizur Rahman for INR 2 Crores to strengthen their bowling lineup. They wrapped up their IPL 2024 auction by picking up young batsman Avinash Rao Aravelly for INR 20 lakh.
Many expected that the legendary captain to retire with a trophy-laden legacy, but Dhoni surprised fans by committing to one more season, displaying his dedication and love for the game.
