India Become No. 1 In ICC Rankings Across All Three Formats After Defeating Australia in 1st ODI at Mohali: India has emerged as the number one cricket side in all three formats ahead of the 2023 World Cup. For a month, the men in blue have been rated top in T20 and Test cricket, and they have now become first in ODI cricket after defeating Australia in the first of three ODI matches in Mohali on Friday.

With its outstanding cricketing talents, India has cemented its dominance in international cricket in recent years. The Men in Blue, the 2023 World Cup hosts, are now the first Asian and second side after South Africa to establish themselves as the number-one team across all formats of cricket. Aside from that, numerous Indian players are ranked in the top ten.

Prior to the Asia Cup 2023, India was ranked third in ODIs, while Pakistan and Australia were ranked second and third, respectively. However, the Asia Cup and Australia’s visit to South Africa substantially altered the standings. Pakistan failed to qualify for the Asia Cup finals, while Australia lost the ODI series against the Proteas by a score of 2-3.

India won the Asia Cup by defeating Sri Lanka in the finals. They bowled the Lankans out for 50 runs. Despite this crushing victory, India was unable to attain the top spot since they lost a Super 4 match against Bangladesh. Soon after the Asia Cup, India faced Australia in a three-match ODI series, and they quickly took the lead after winning the first game.

Before this match, India was on the same points as Pakistan, and all they needed was a win to take the top spot, which they achieved. If India wins one more match against Australia, they will win the series and enter the World Cup as the number-one team. Pakistan is currently second, while Australia is third.
