Bowled out for 150 in tough conditions, India found its pace and bounced back with the ball. Captain Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj dismantled Australia’s batting lineup and reduced it to 67/7 at stumps at the end of day 1.

Yashasvi Jaiswal (161) and KL Rahul (77) settled India’s second innings with a lucrative opening partnership. Bumrah’s five-for ensured that Australia finished their first innings at a lowly 104 when India had generated a healthy first-innings lead.

IND vs AUS 1st Test Virat Kohli’s Century

Virat Kohli displayed his class through his 81st international century, and Jaiswal mesmerized with a gritty 161. India then declared at 487/6, leaving a towering chase of 522 runs for Australia. They could have possibly set Australia into some topsy-turvy situation, as Bumrah rocked their world by leaving them at 12/3 at stumps after day 3.
