ICC Test Player Rankings (Updated) Before IND vs ENG 5th Test; Virat And Yashasvi In Top 10. In the latest update of the ICC Men’s Test Rankings, there are notable changes, including a significant rise for young Indian batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal. Additionally, despite not participating in the ongoing India vs England Test series, veteran Virat Kohli has also seen an improvement in his ranking.

Kane Williamson continues to maintain a significant lead in the Test batter rankings, despite scoring zero and nine in Wellington. Meanwhile, Australia’s veteran player Steve Smith has experienced a drop in his rating, falling below 800 points for the first time since 2014. Additionally, he has slipped one spot to third on the same list following his performances of 31 and zero against the Kiwis.

Indian young cricketer Yashasvi Jaiswal has climbed two positions in the Test batters’ rankings, entering the top 10 for the first time. Jaiswal’s improvement is attributed to his outstanding performance in the Test series against England. Jaiswal has been in excellent form in the series, accumulating 655 runs across four Test matches. He has equalled Virat Kohli’s run total in a Test series against England and is on track to surpass the legendary batter’s record in the upcoming Dharamsala Test match.

ICC Test Player Rankings: Jasprit Bumrah Continues to Lead Test Bowling Rankings

India’s pace spearhead, Jasprit Bumrah, currently tops the list for Test bowlers. However, both pacer Josh Hazlewood and spinner Nathan Lyon have made significant advancements. Hazlewood has moved up one place to fourth, while Lyon has climbed two spots to sixth. These improvements come after their outstanding performances in the opening Test of their trans-Tasman showdown against the Kiwis in Wellington.

Hazlewood took two wickets from New Zealand in both innings of the significant 172-run win, while Lyon claimed a total of 10 wickets as Australia dominated the highly anticipated match at Basin Reserve. This leaves Australia with four players ranked inside the top 12 for Test bowlers, including skipper Pat Cummins in fifth place and left-arm bowler Mitchell Starc in twelfth, forming a highly-rated quartet.
