5 Players Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Could Target In IPL 2024 Auction. Before the IPL 2024 auction, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) had let go of 11 players from their squad. Currently, they have a total of 18 players in their squad. As a result, they have the opportunity to acquire 7 additional players during the IPL 2024 auction.

In the upcoming IPL 2024, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) boasts a formidable batting lineup with players like Faf Du Plessis, Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, and Dinesh Karthik. However, their bowling department faces a challenge as they’ve parted ways with several bowlers, including Harshal Patel, Josh Hazlewood, Dawid Willey, and Wanindu Hasaranga.

As a result, the three-time runners-up find themselves in need of additional bowlers for their squad, and the IPL 2024 auction provides an opportunity for strategic acquisitions. Currently, Akash Deep, Mohammed Siraj, and Reece Topley serve as the pacers for RCB, with Topley having missed the last season due to injury.

As the much-anticipated 17th season approaches, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), equipped with a budget of 23.15 crores, is embarking on a mission to enhance its squad through strategic player acquisitions in the IPL 2024 auction. The franchise is keen to end its title drought and build a formidable team capable of securing the coveted IPL trophy. Considering the gaps in their bowling lineup, RCB can focus on targeting specific bowlers in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 auction to bolster their squad.

5 Players RCB Can Target In IPL 2024 Auction

Kartik Tyagi

Tyagi’s recent domestic cricket performances and an impressive IPL track record of 15 wickets in 19 matches establish him as a force in fast bowling. His brisk pace makes him a sought-after asset, and teams seeking a reliable Indian pacer are expected to bid for his services aggressively. Despite limited opportunities with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) after transitioning from Rajasthan Royals (RR), this promising seamer, now available in the auction pool with a base price of 2 crores, is a target for RCB. The Bangalore-based franchise aims to leverage his skills, forming a formidable pace battery alongside Mohammed Siraj and Reece Topley in the IPL 2024 auction.

Daniel Sams

Daniel Sams, recently released by Lucknow SuperGiants (LSG), is now a prime target for RCB, especially following the departure of David Willey, Wayne Parnell, and Harshal Patel. As an Australian cricketer, Sams offers a versatile skill set, excelling in both bowling and contributing with the bat to score useful runs. His all-round abilities make him a valuable addition, fulfilling a crucial role in the lower order for the Bangalore-based franchise. With a base price of 1.5 Crore, he becomes an intriguing prospect in the IPL 2024 auction.

Gerald Coetzee

With Josh Hazlewood’s departure, RCB should prioritize securing the young pace sensation Gerald Coetzee in the IPL auction. His explosive bowling style complements Mohammed Siraj’s swing, forming a formidable duo. Coetzee’s expertise in death bowling, coupled with a modest base price of 75 lakhs, positions him as a valuable steal, especially considering his recent T20I success—economy 3.40 and claiming 61 wickets in just 19 matches. Priced at 2 crores in the IPL 2024 auction, he represents a long-term investment that RCB shouldn’t overlook.

Shahrukh Khan

RCB should target Shahrukh Khan in the upcoming IPL auction to bolster their middle-order firepower. With his ability to clear boundaries and accelerate the scoring rate, he perfectly complements Dinesh Karthik at No. 7. While his domestic performances and IPL record (928 runs in 83 matches) demonstrate immense potential. His base price of 40 lakhs makes him a bargain, justifying a strong bid from RCB to unleash his hitting prowess in the Chinnaswamy stadium.

Jason Holder

In the upcoming auction, RCB should focus on acquiring Jason Holder to fulfil their requirement for a versatile all-rounder. Holder’s combination of pace bowling, power-hitting, and leadership qualities adds significant value to the team. Despite a less-than-ideal IPL 2023, his extensive experience (55 T20I matches, 57 wickets, 407 runs) and consistent performance in various leagues makes him a valuable asset. With a reasonable base price of 1 crore, RCB should actively pursue Holder, addressing their need for a strong third seamer and finisher.
