More Matches Mean More Workload On Teams
The addition of two new teams from IPL 2022 will bring new challenges for BCCI. We expect a total of around 94 matches to be played between the 10 teams. This will result in an excessive workload for the players. It is also to be kept in mind that the ICC T20 cricket world cup will be held in Australia next year. So, it will be very challenging for the players to manage their workload.
BCCI will also have to look at a bigger IPL window. There might even be concerns of IPL clashing with the International cricket calendar. All these aspects will have to be taken care which will be a humongous task.
The Addition Of Two new teams will make BCCI cash-rich
Ever since the inception of IPL, BCCI has raised flags of success on the economic front. It is expected that each new team will have a base price of around 1500 crores. After the auction, it may reach close to 2000 crore. This means approximately 4,000 crores additional amount will go into the bags of BCCI. This is a considerable amount.
However, considering the economic crisis due to Covid, These figures may change at the time of auction. According to the latest data, Mumbai Indians is the richest IPL franchise with an estimated worth of close to 2750 crores, followed by CSK with around 2200 crores.
In a nutshell, the addition of two new teams will bring a new flavor to IPL.
