Team India that will play a six-game series against Sri Lanka in July got a new coach as Former skipper Rahul Dravid. After working with the boys as a batting consultant during the England tour in 2014 this will be his second stretch with the team India.

Dravid to coach team India on Sri Lanka tour

A BCCI official confirmed that the National Cricket Academy chief Dravid would be leading the team as the trio of Ravi Shastri, Bharat Arun and Vikram Rathour will be in England with the Test team.

Before taking over as the chief of NCA in 2019, Dravid had worked closely with the current youngsters in the Indian cricket team at the U-19 level as well as in the India ‘A’ team.  Former skipper Rahul is seen to have played an integral role in building solid bench strength for the national team over the last couple of years.

The Indian team for the Sri Lanka tour is expected to be selected at the end of the month and the boys will have to undergo quarantine before playing the three ODI and three T20I games.

In the Lanka tour, Team India will play three One Day Internationals on July 17, 19, 21 and the T20Is to be played from July 24-27.
