T20 World Cup 2022: Shaheen Afridi Returns, As Pakistan Announce Their 15-Man Squad For The Tournament. To add to the list of teams such as Australia, South Africa, England, India, and West Indies, Pakistan has also formally announced their 15-man squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2022, to kickstart in Australia on Oct 16th.
Pakistan had a great T20 world cup last edition. They were invincible till the finals of the tournament. In the final, they were outplayed by a formidable Australian team. But, things have changed for Pakistan in the last year.
They have consistently played better cricket, and most players are in decent form. Pakistan will miss the services of Shaheen Shah Afridi, who got injured before the Asia Cup 2022. But Naseem Shah has become their new hero, with consistent performances.
They had a reasonably good Asia Cup 2022, but the men in green lost to Sri Lanka in the finals. Overall, Pakistan has a good balance, and if they perform as per their caliber, we can see them marching ahead of other teams in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022.
