Jhulan Goswami Retirement. Veteran Indian women cricketer Jhulan Goswami is set to bring curtains to her 2-decade-long illustrious career. She will be playing her last ODI at the Lord’s cricket ground against England on 24th September. Jhulan Goswami was selected for the squad to tour England next month.

The 39-year-old tall fast bowler last represented India in the 2022 ODI world cup. She was rested after that and did not feature in the series against Sri Lanka and also the commonwealth games. It is learned that BCCI has expressed its concerns regarding the fitness of Jhulan Goswami. They agreed to give her a memorable sendoff at the home of cricket Lords.

Jhulan Goswami Career Stats, Records

Jhulan Goswami made her debut for India at the age of 19 against England way back in the year 2002. She comes from the very small town of Chakdaha in West Bengal’s Nadia district. She holds the record for most wickets in International cricket. She has picked 352 wickets across all three formats.

Jhulan Goswami represented India in 12 tests, 201 ODI, and 68 T20. Out of the 362 wickets to her name, 252 have come in the 50-over format. Goswami already announced retirement from T20 cricket in August 2018, and subsequently, her last test appearance was against the mighty Australians in October 2021. Earlier this year, Mithali Raj, one of her teammates, also announced her retirement from international cricket.

Indian Women’s Cricket Team To Tour England

BCCI on Friday announced the squad for 3 match ODI and T20 series. The ODI will take place on Sep 18, 21, and 24, while T20 will be held on Sep 10,13 and 15.
