TATA IPL 2026 to Begin on March 28

TATA IPL 2026 to Begin on March 28 in Bengaluru. The Indian Premier League 2026 season will begin on March 28 in Bengaluru. The tournament will continue until May 31 this year. A total of 10 teams will play 74 matches in the upcoming season. Fans can expect nearly two months of exciting cricket. Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru will play the opening match at their home ground. The season opener in Bengaluru is expected to attract huge attention.

Earlier, the tournament was expected to start on March 26. However, BCCI shifted the date by two days. The change was made due to upcoming assembly elections in several Indian states. These elections will take place during the March to May window. Elections are scheduled in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Kerala, and Puducherry. Because of this situation, the full IPL schedule has not been finalised yet. The Election Commission of India is still finalising polling dates.

The match schedule announcement has also been delayed. Fans were expecting the fixtures to be revealed on March 8. The date was special because the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Final 2026 was also scheduled that day. However, reports suggest the fixtures will now be announced on March 9. The announcement may happen at 4 PM IST or 6 PM IST.
