Kylian Mbappe Leaves PSG For Real Madrid, Set to Move In July. After years of pursual, Real Madrid has finally bagged PSG’s Kylian Mbappe as a free agent this week.  Mbappe’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires on June 30 and his signing with the Spanish FC was imminent. His new contract with Real Madrid is a five-year deal that goes onto the 2029 season.

The French footballer will make a whopping $16.3 million per season with a signing bonus of $163.9 million, which will be paid over the next five years. He is likely to don the No.8 shirt at Real Madrid. But word on social media is that Mbappe signed with the Spanish Club back in February 2024, but there were no official announcements from either side of the same.

Italian sports journalist Fabrizio Romano stated on microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter) that Real Madrid will officially announce signing on Mbappe after winning the Champions League next week.

“It’s my last year at Paris Saint-Germain” – Kylian Mbappe

Last month, Mbappe, 25, told PSG’s supporters that this was his last year at Paris Saint-Germain. He said he will not extend his contract and the Ligue 1 game would be his last at the Parc des Princes. Mbappe, who plays forward, said he had the great honor to be a member of PSG. He said its difficult to leave, but he needs a change, a new challenge after seven years.

In 2017, Mbappe arrived at the French FC as a loan from Monaco. A year later, he was signed permanently for $167.96 million. During his run with PSG, Mbappe won six league titles and 256 goals. He is recognized as the best French player to have donned the PSG jersey.

Over the years, Real Madrid intensified its pursuit of Mbappe marked by failure. This time around the French footballer gave his word to the Spanish club. He will boost Real Madrid’s star power alongside the likes of Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Silva de-Goes. Bellingham expressed excitement to have Mbappe on their side. He said it’s the only one thing that Real Madrid is missing in terms of that clinical nine. The English footballer believes Mbappe will take the club to a really great place.
