IND vs WI 1st Test: Team India Beat West Indies By An Innings and 140 Runs. Team India put on a dominant all-round performance to defeat the West Indies by an innings and 140 runs in the first Test at the Narendra Modi Stadium, taking a 1-0 lead in the two-match series.

After bowling West Indies out for 162 and batting first, India scored a commanding 448/5 declared, including centuries by KL Rahul (100), Dhruv Jurel (125), and Ravindra Jadeja (104)*. The trio of batters ensured India had a massive lead of 286, which put the visitors under pressure in their second innings.

Jadeja and Siraj dismantle West Indies

In response to India’s 448, the West Indies fell for 146, crumbling against India’s impressive bowling and relentless attack. Ravindra Jadeja took center stage with the ball with figures of 4/54, while Mohammed Siraj took 3 wickets and finished with 7 for the match. Kuldeep Yadav took the final wicket to wrap up the victory in under three days.

India’s declaration overnight for 448/5 was just right. The bowlers were able to exploit the early morning conditions to perfection as the West Indies crumbled once again, with no batter showing any sign of true resistance. Only Alick Athanaze (42) showed minor resistance in the latter innings.
