IND vs ENG: England Announces 16-Member Test Squad Against India. The England Men’s selection panel has announced a 16-player squad for the upcoming five-Test series against India. The squad includes three players who have never played at the Test level. Surrey’s Gus Atkinson, an impressive quick, is joined by off-spinners Tom Hartley from Lancashire and Shoaib Bashir from Somerset.

Gus Atkinson showcased his skills in the County Championship last summer, securing 20 wickets in five matches at an average of 20.20, contributing to Surrey’s consecutive title wins. England’s squad for the upcoming five-Test series against India in January includes three uncapped players.

Both Tom Hartley and Shoaib Bashir were part of the England Lions squad training in the United Arab Emirates last month. Vice-captain Ollie Pope and Jack Leach joined them in the UAE to intensify their preparations for returning to Test duty following injuries.

Rehan Ahmed, the teenage leg-spinner from Leicestershire, makes a comeback to the Test squad after an impressive five-wicket haul on his Test debut in Pakistan last December. The squad has appointed Ben Stokes as captain, as he has opted out of next year’s Indian Premier League to prioritize workload and fitness management. The series is scheduled to commence in Hyderabad on January 25.
