India beat Sri Lanka by 7 wickets with the help of Shikhar Dhawan’s unbeaten 86 runs in 95 balls and Ishan Kishan’s 59 runs in just 42 balls. Shikhar Dhawan, who is captaining Team India for the first time, started India’s innings with Prithvi Shaw. Shaw gave the team a strong start by scoring 42 runs in 24 balls.

After Shaw’s dismissal came Ishan Kishan, who got a chance to make his ODI debut for Team India on his birthday. Making his first ODI memorable, Kishan played a daring inning of 59 runs with the captain.
