Asia Cup 2023: Team Nepal Squad And Schedule. The much-anticipated 16th edition of the Asia Cup is all set to get underway on August 30 and will run until September 17th. The tournament will be played in ODI (50-over) format due to the forthcoming World Cup 2023 in India. Asia Cup 2023 will feature 13 matches. Sri Lanka will host nine matches whereas Pakistan will host four. A total of six Asian countries will entertain the fans at this event.

Arch-rivals India and Pakistan will clash on 2 September at Kandy (Sri Lanka). The final schedule of Asia Cup 2023 was released on July 19. Nepal will face Pakistan in the opening match of the tournament at Multan.

All six teams—Nepal, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh—will be placed in two groups: Group A and Group B. Each group will have 3 teams, which will play 6 league matches, 6 Super 4 matches, and one final game in a Round-robin format. Currently, Sri Lanka is the reigning champion. They won it last year (2022) after thrashing Pakistan in the final battle.

Nepal, interestingly, qualified for their maiden Asia Cup. This year, Nepal will play one of the biggest Asian tournaments for their country. In May 2023, under Rohit Paudel’s captaincy, in the ACC Men’s Premier Cup finals, Nepal dominated and left the UAE at bay, giving the Rhinos a ticket to the Asia Cup 2023.
