WPL 2024 Auction: Full List Of Retained & Released Players With Base Price Category. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has recently released the list of players who will be up for auction in the TATA Women’s Premier League (WPL) edition. The WPL auction 2024 is scheduled for December 9 2023 in Mumbai. A total of 165 players will be available for bidding.
Of these 165 players, 104 are from India while the rest come from countries worldwide. Among them, there are 15 players representing nations. To break it down further 56 players have already represented their teams at some level while 109 are yet to do. Each team participating in the league will have 24 slots to fill with nine reserved for players. Deandra Dottin from West Indies and Kim Garth, from Australia have set the base prices for this auction. Both fall into the top bracket.
In the 2024 Women’s Premier League (WPL) a total of 60 players, out of which 21 are cricketers, have been kept by the five franchises. Additionally, 29 players have been let go from their squads. The Gujarat Giants will enter the auction with the largest salary cap of Rs. 5.95 crore, while the defending champion Mumbai Indians will have the smallest purse of 2.1 crore among the five franchises.
