WPL 2023: Australian Alyssa Healy Named Captain Of UP Warriorz For Inaugural Season Of WPL. One of the five teams of Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023, UP Warriorz on Wednesday appointed experienced Australian wicket-keeper opener Alyssa Healy as their captain for the inaugural season of WPL.

UP Warriorz owned by Capri Global Holdings signed Alyssa Healy for Rs 70 lakhs at the inaugural Women’s Premier League (WPL) auction in Mumbai on Feb 13. UPW buy six overseas players in WPL 2023 auction. Healy who made her international debut in Feb 2010 appeared in 139 T20Is for Australia, scoring nearly 2,500 runs with one century and 14 fifties.

32 years old Alyssa Healy is also regarded as one of the best wicket-keeper batsmen, having been dismissed 110 times in T20Is. Very few people know that Alyssa Healy is the nephew of great Australian legendary cricketer Ian Healey. She plays for Sydney Sixers in the Women’s Big Bash League from 2016 to date.

WPL 2023 Details

Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023 will be held in Mumbai from March 4th to March 26th. The marquee tournament will feature 22 games, with the Brabourne Stadium and DY Patil Stadium serving as hosts. The UP Warriorz will begin their WPL campaign on March 5th, against Gujarat Giants in the second match of the day at the DY Patil Stadium.
