Real Madrid Retains Key Trio: Ancelotti Confirms Benzema, Kroos, And Modric To Stay For Next Season. Carlo Ancelotti, the coach of Real Madrid, believes that Karim Benzema, Luka Modric, and Toni Kroos will stay with the club for the upcoming season. Although the long-serving trio is out of contract this summer, Ancelotti stated that “they are talking” about renewing their contracts. Benzema, who is a former striker for France and 35 years old, along with Modric, a 37-year-old midfielder from Croatia, have both won five Champions League titles with Real since 2014. Additionally, Kroos, a former midfielder for Germany and 33 years old, has won four titles.

Since 2016, Real Madrid has signed Eduardo Camavinga, Dani Ceballos, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Federico Valverde as part of their preparation for the future. While Kroos and Modric have played fewer games this season, Benzema has remained the top scorer of the team. In fact, he scored a hat-trick in Wednesday’s Copa del Rey win over Barcelona, a game in which all three players started.

Comment Of Carlo Ancelotti

Ancelotti believes that the three players will stay and emphasizes the importance of evaluating players based on their performance, not age. Despite having a lower physical profile and energy than younger players, he thinks that Benzema, Modric, and Kroos possess unique game management skills that are priceless and not available in any market worldwide. Ancelotti further added that experience helps develop these skills and that although age may take away something, it also gives something in return.
