Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 Squad Of All 6 Teams. The Pakistan Cricket Board has opened the registration window for foreign players, setting the stage for the flagship event tentatively scheduled from February 8th to March 19th, 2024. Player category updates include Quetta Gladiators Naseem Shah and Iftikhar Ahmed moving from diamond to platinum, Sarfraz Ahmed advancing from gold to diamond, and Peshawar Zalmi’s Mohammad Haris shifting to diamond from gold. Abbas Afridi and Ihsanullah of Multan Sultans have received promotions to the gold category.

Islamabad United’s Azam Khan and Faheem Ashraf now hold the diamond status, upgrading from gold. Tayyab Tahir of Karachi Kings advanced from silver to gold, and Qasim Akram was promoted to gold from the emerging category. Lahore Qalandars’ Kamran Ghulam and Zaman Khan moved up to gold from silver and emerging, respectively.

However, some players faced demotions, including Mohammad Nawaz (Quetta, Platinum to Diamond), Mohammad Hasnain (Quetta, Diamond to Gold), Haider Ali (Karachi, Platinum to Gold), and Asif Ali (Islamabad, Platinum to Diamond). Also, it’s crucial to highlight that the gold category is the lowest category to which players with international representation for Pakistan can be demoted.

Teams will now submit relegation requests for players before finalizing retentions, providing all franchises with the opportunity to meet the player’s base category after the issuance of relegation requests.

Potential Hosts for PSL 2024: UAE and South Africa in Consideration

Officials are considering the UAE and South Africa to host some matches in Pakistan Super League (PSL) season nine due to the upcoming general elections on February 8. Meanwhile, the PSL season spans from February 8 to March 24 sources indicate a preference for conducting the entire event in Pakistan.

On 14th November’s Lahore meeting, chaired by Zaka Ashraf and featuring representation from all six PSL franchises, is expected to finalize the schedule and venues for PSL 9. Moreover, The PCB has tentatively scheduled the PSL Draft for mid-December and has opened registration for foreign players.

The Lahore Qalandars emerged victorious in the latest Pakistan Super League edition (PSL) edition. They clinched the 2023 PSL title by overcoming the Multan Sultans in the final, marking their second championship in three years. The Qalandars secured their triumph through a robust team effort, showcasing notable contributions across the batting lineup and bowling attack. Also, The tournament organizers honoured Shaheen Afridi, the fast bowler for the Qalandars, as the Player of the Tournament.
