Operation Sindoor: All PSL 2025 Rawalpindi Match Cancelled. Both Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings were supposed to play a Pakistan Super League match on May 8, 2025, before it was cancelled because of a drone attack beside Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The remaining 10 matches of PSL 2025 have now been shifted to Karachi because of the drone attacks by India under Operation Sindoor.

A drone crash near the stadium by Pakistani forces just a few hours before the scheduled time of the match. The Pakistan military claims to have shot down more than one drone at different places, including Rawalpindi. Amidst heightened hostilities after India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’—military strikes against targets in revenge for a terror attack in Pahalgam.

Foreign players were left utterly shocked by the sudden attack. Many of them calling the PCB, worried for their own safety and enquiring about arrangements to leave the country at once. The ECB and Cricket Australia have even advised their players to pull out of the tournament. Asserting the belief that “life is more important than cricket”.

All remaining PSL matches will be relocated to Karachi. An emergency meeting is to be held to decide the future of the tournament. With discussions to include postponement or moving the matches elsewhere. PSL 2025 is severely disrupted by this incident that poses questions about the safety of international sporting events.
