IPL 2025: RCB Road To Fourth Final Appearance With An Emphatic Win Over PBKS. Royal Challengers Bengaluru is now in the final of IPL 2025 after crushing Punjab Kings by 8 wickets in Qualifier 1 at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Stadium. RCB chased down a modest target of 102 in only 10 overs.

The team will play its fourth IPL final, having ended as runners-up in 2009, 2011, and 2016. They now have the golden opportunity again in 2025 to win the trophy that has eluded them all these years.

Rajat Patidar chose to bowl after winning the toss. RCB bowlers destroyed the Punjab batting lineup, bowling them out for just 101 runs in 14.1 overs. Suyash Sharma had an amazing day as a young bowler, finishing with 3 for 17. Josh Hazlewood and Yash Dayal took 3 and 2 wickets respectively.

Chasing a modest total of 102, RCB openers Phil Salt and Virat Kohli laid down a solid foundation. Salt remained unbeaten on 56 from 27 balls, displaying a memorably aggressive approach. The chase was wrapped up in no time, with RCB finishing in 10 overs with eight wickets in hand and 60 balls to spare.

RCB began their journey with a big win against KKR at Eden Gardens, their first there in 6 years. RCB also defeated Lucknow by chasing 228 runs. This was the highest chase by Bengaluru in IPL history. RCB bowlers skittled out PBKS for a mere 101 runs, after which the batsmen walked to the target in just 10 overs, sealing an 8-wicket win with 60 balls to spare.

For the first time in IPL history, RCB won all their away matches in a single season. The team had plenty to choose from, with 10 different players scoring 50+ and eight players getting Player of the Match awards, a truly collective effort.

With this win, RCB goes directly to the IPL 2025 final on June 3. The team awaits the winner of Qualifier 2, where PBKS has another chance for a shot at the final. RCB’s all-around performance in Qualifier 1 showcased their willpower on the journey of sporting success to actualize the opportunity to win their first IPL title.
