Every season there is a lot of buzz and speculations about RCB that they would perform better as they always have one of the best teams but they fail to convert the names on paper to performance as a team.

However, the remarkable run in the IPL 2020 which featured the rise of youngsters like Devdutt Padikkal, MD Shiraj, Washington Sundar have made the team perform better.

The men in red have never been called as the the darlings of the elite tournament. But they have surely become a force to reckon with under the leadership of batting maestro Virat Kohli.

The RCB think tank took a very bold step by parting ways with several familiar names. Releasing players such as Chris Morris, Aaron Finch, Moeen Ali, Umesh Yadav, Pawan Negi, have shown that a complete transformation seems to be on the cards. These names have been integral part of RCB growth over the years.

In this edition of 2021, RCB needs to bring in a lot of fresh as well as experience talent. They have to give major importance to choose at least a formidable opening pair, few quality pace bowlers, and at least 1 wicket keeper.

Talking about opening slot, Young Devdutt Padikkal has shown lot of promise last year. But, the other end has been a mix bag for them. They tried Aron Finch last year but it was of no use.

English cricketer Jason Roy is very famous for his big hitting ability in the limited-overs format. The opening batsman has also scored 4 T20 centuries.

During the recent BBL league, he has impressed one and all with his attacking and impressive batting. RCB needs an experienced opening batsman along with the young Devdutt Padikkal. Jason Roy can perform the same role.

While AB de Villiers kept wicket for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL 2020.He needs to be kept purely as a batsman in order to reduce the workload from him.

Sheldon Jackson can be a good option for RCB for this role. Sheldon has been a consistent performer in the domestic cricket. Recently in the domestic Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2020/21, he managed to pile up 242 runs in 5 games with strike-rate of around 155, including one unbeaten century and one half-century.

Having likes of Maxwell can always be a sweet deal for any team let alone RCB. Maxwell is always a game changer, though last edition did not go well for him. Still we can never write off a talent like him.

He can be inducted in RCB squad to provide some finishing touch to the innings and this way it can reduce the workload from ABD and Kohli.

Royal Challengers Bangalore need a solid team combination for 2021 and having the highest purse value currently among all 8 teams, it gives the luxury for them to pick the best from the rest.
