The first innings saw a promising start from Pakistan, thanks to Imam-ul-Haq and Abdullah Shafique, but Noor Ahmad halted their progress. Noor Ahmad continued to trouble Pakistan’s top order, taking two more wickets, and dismissing Abdullah Shafique and Muhammad Rizwan. Nevertheless, Pakistan reached a total of 282/7, boosted by late boundaries from Iftikhar Ahmed and Shadab Khan.

During the second innings, Afghanistan began their chase with a robust opening partnership, accumulating 130 runs. However, Shaheen Afridi halted this partnership by dismissing R. Gurbaz. Nonetheless, a stellar display of batting by Rahmat Shah and Hashmatullah Shahidi ultimately guided their team to victory by 8 wickets to spare.
