Asia Cup 2025: ACC Confirms UAE as Official Host, India-Pakistan Clash on September 14 in Dubai. The Asian Cricket Council has officially confirmed that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will be hosting the entire T20 Asia Cup 2025, with matches in Dubai and Abu Dhabi from September 9 to 28.
The prestigious continental tournament will consist of a total of eight teams: India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, UAE, Oman, and Hong Kong. In contrast to six teams in the previous editions, this allows for an extended and more intense competition. The 19 matches will be played across two venues—Dubai International Stadium and Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
Dubai will play host to 11 matches, including the high-profile India-Pakistan clash on September 14 and the final on September 28, while Abu Dhabi will host eight matches, beginning with the tournament opener between Afghanistan and Hong Kong on September 9.
This event shifted from India to the UAE because of teansions between India and Pakistan. This ensures full participation and smooth logistics, with ACC citing the unparalleled infrastructure and experience the UAE boasts of in hosting major cricketing events.
There will be a group stage format, followed by the Super Four, and finally the grand finale. With India and Pakistan being in the same group, they could face each other up to three times in the tournament, depending on the results.
