Asia Cup 2025 Likely to Begin on September 5 in UAE, India vs Pakistan Clash on September 7. The highly awaited Asia Cup 2025 is expected to begin on September 4 or 5 and conclude on September 21. The tournament will be held solely in the UAE, which will host the tournament despite India being the official host. This is also largely due to the political situation between India and Pakistan, which has once again forced the use of a neutral site, as done in previous tournaments.

Asia Cup 2025 will be a mega showdown between arch-rivals India and Pakistan. It is expected to take place on September 7. There is a strong possibility that the two teams would meet multiple times within the tournament. They could face each other once in the group stage, again in the Super Four, and even again in the final if both teams managed to get that far. This gives an opportunity to have up to three IND vs. PAK matches in less than three weeks.

India Retains Hosting Rights, But UAE Set to Host the Tournament

The tournament will be in T20I format in preparation for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. Any six of India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and one qualifier will be participating. The matches will likely be hosted at vibrant UAE venues in Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi.

India is the host of the 2025 Asia Cup, but given logistical reasons, the matches will be played in the UAE. In addition, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has also approved the hosts for the next Asia Cup. Bangladesh will host the 2027 edition in ODI format, Pakistan in 2029 (T20I), and Sri Lanka in 2031 (ODI).
